I work for an ambulance organisation called St John Ambulance. It was formed by Christians who healed the sick and injured during the crusades. We wear the Maltese cross on our uniform. So cool!

Yes God is there for us, but he will also send others, or want us to go to others, for that help. Here's a story I heard before on this topic A woman wrecked in the middle of the ocean, she prayed to God for help, a helicopter came and the woman said "No thanks, God's got me", the same happened with a boat, then a raft. When the woman arrived in heaven, she asked God "Why didn't you send help?", God replied "I did, I sent you a helicopter, a boat, and a raft" He will help us, but we also are to put in effort and seek help so as not to fall to pride or sloth
