@thebasketballcardinsider: How much would you pay for a few extra words? 🤔 For these cards, the answer was A LOT. These five cards had sale-price gaps ranging from $30K to over $127K. Here they are from smallest to largest 👇 🐐 TOM BRADY — “7x SB CHAMP. 5x SB MVP. G.O.A.T.” Brady basically signed his résumé onto this Bowman Chrome rookie. Both copies were PSA 10/Auto 10 and sold just 36 days apart. The inscribed copy also carries the TB12 Collection designation. ✍️ AJ DYBANTSA — “My 1st Bowman Auto.” That’s more than an autograph. It marks the beginning. Both were Blue /150 PSA 10s, but the inscribed copy was also numbered 001/150. The sales were 61 days apart. 🐍 KOBE BRYANT — “Black Mamba.” Two words that turn a Kobe autograph into something a lot more personal. The inscribed National Treasures copy sold for $72K despite a lower card grade: BGS 9 vs. BGS 9.5. It was also rarer, numbered /10 instead of /25. The sales were 63 days apart. 👑 LEBRON JAMES — “King of the Cosmos.” The inscribed Cosmic Chrome Black Eclipse /10 outsold a Red Flare /5 by nearly $79K—even though the Red had the smaller print run. Both were PSA 9/Auto 10 and sold 19 days apart. The inscribed copy was also the first numbered, 01/10. 🦄 SHOHEI OHTANI — “挑戦 — “Challenge.” Same 2018 Donruss Rated Prospects autograph, same /50 print run, same BGS 9/Auto 10 grade. A completely different result. Goldin described the inscribed card as the only known Kanji-inscribed copy in the run. These sales were nearly seven months apart, so the market had time to move, too. The words don’t explain every dollar here—timing, condition, parallels and serial numbers matter. But these are the kinds of details that make collectors say, “I want THAT copy.” #sportscards #baseballcards #basketballcards #thehobby #autograph
