@alpine.echo3: Authentic historical footage documenting the Battle of Berlin in April–May 1945, one of the final and most devastating battles of World War II in Europe. As Soviet forces advanced into the German capital, intense street fighting erupted among ruined buildings, barricades and defensive positions. German soldiers and hastily assembled defenders resisted the Soviet advance as the city suffered widespread destruction. The footage captures scenes of urban combat, Soviet troops moving through devastated streets and the destruction left behind by the battle. The Soviet offensive began on April 16, 1945. Fighting reached the center of Berlin during the final days of April, and the city's remaining German forces surrendered on May 2, 1945. The battle claimed the lives of tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians, leaving much of Berlin in ruins. It marked the collapse of Nazi Germany, shortly before the end of the war in Europe. 🎞️ AI Colorization Notice: This historical footage has been restored and colorized with the help of artificial intelligence.
