Curious, inflation accelerated but the overnight rate stayed the same. That’s odd.

GDP is just how much they’ve squeezed the average American now

Biden’s average GDP 3.2% over 16 quarters. Trump’s average GDP over 7 quarters 2.3%. Negative GDP growth may be just around the corner. If AI investments hadn’t been made we would be in a recession.

GDP growth is strong, layoffs remain low, and PCE inflation is running at 3.6%. In my opinion, the Fed will choose to fight inflation primarily. With two officials already voting for a hike yesterday, another increase looks like a very real and growing possibility.

Truth is our country is collapsing and with this war, it’s collapsing on steroids. You think it’s bad now it’s gonna get a lot worse. Remember just about everything we use in our daily lives comes from other countries and it won’t be coming. There will be shortages in prescription and over-the-counter drugs, my pharmacist confirming this. What food that will be available will be un affordable. If you have children, you better prepare because dark days are coming.

It is no small measure affliction that I acknowledge my fortunates to be sadly diminished,my purse exhausted, and my station reduced to one of grievous penury, such that I find myself abandoned to the stern tutelage of want, the harshest master to which mankind is ever subject. I have wrestled with the matter through many a sleepless night, and it is with profound regrets that I find myself unable to undertake theis responsibility, for I discovered within myself a weakness I had long sought to conceal,my hands tremble,my resolve falters, and much as I would desire to comply,my abilities are insufficient for so grave a deed. I have exhausted the uttermost measure of patience one may extend in such circumstances, and I must therefore insist that you retire without delay, lest my temper betray me into unseemly candour. I have bent my attention towards the matter with a patience I scarcely possess and it is with a sadness I had hoped to avoid that I perceive a confusion so artfully arranged,so barren of substance, that it lingers as a pale fiction divorced from reality.

The economy was booming in 2008. GDP growth and all time stock market highs and high energy costs. Then.....kablam!! We are in a recession. There ARE layoffs. More than I have seen in a long time. Wages are stagnant.

"not a lot of layoffs" as Microsoft dumps 25% of staff and skydance preps for their own. any metric that's not considering underemployment (esp related to the gig economy) and wage suppression is just not cutting it for today's economy. How long are we going to settle for talking heads telling us things are just fine when all 90% of America has to do to invalidate this is look at their bank account? criminal levels of gaslighting imo
