Never fill oil to the top of the grid. You never see a swimming pool filled to the top do you ? Always in the middle or a little more never to the top

I personally put 10 quarts in my civic for extra lubrication. My cars been a bit sluggish though and idling weird recently, so I may need to check my spark plugs.

I had a 2020 Kia that I had changed the oil on before a trip and 7 days later the car had no oil in it and my engine blew.. needless to say KIA SUCKS

Brother they still got and make GDI engines lmfao. The problem was metal in the engine from casting during the manufacturing process.

The previous GDI engines were impossible to keep full of oil. I am very proud of keeping one alive to sell at 130k

we have those in my rental fleet and the ones after 2020 are my favorite, are they kinda misfortune looking....yes. but they're our work horses and we beat the trap outta them im very happy with how far Kias have come since the GDI'S

You don't NEED to scope anything OR remove the valve cover to prove that diagnostic. Pull up live or current data with engine running and look at exhaust camshaft Actually vs. Desired timing. If it's 4 degrees off there, the lock pin is stuck inside the camshaft.

Sounds like it’s under warranty unless they bought it used. My kia has a 10 yr 100,000 mile power train warranty.
