This is so common!! I just bow out. My circle is sooo small. Like why am I at a baby shower with my family & my aunt is talking about her daughter who was also pregnant and not in attendance, and body shaming her to us, and pointing out how much weight she’s gained. Like, just count me out. I don’t want to even hear that. It’s so cruel. And it’s about people who likely deeply trust you. It makes me so uncomfortable.

This was my experience as a ww. I think we are taught to view other women as competition so that we don’t unite as women against the power dynamic. When I got into a 12 step program in my early 20s, I had to unpack that behavior. Since then, I’ve only had friends that do not talk crap and lead with compassion and self reflection if there’s an issue. It was a painful lesson.

In my experience this is true. THOUGH as much as they talk behind backs—if you communicate these issues head on directly to the person there’s an issue with…that’s a no go. It’s a strange strange game.

This is my mom to a T. People used to tell me “why are you so worried people are talking badly about you, nobody talks like that!” um because my mom behind closed doors was straight up evil while talking about some of her “closest friends” so I thought that’s what everyone did

I really tried to have a relationship with my sisters but they were so mean behind my back. It's heartbreaking they've said horrifying things about me experiencing DV. I just don't understand they're supposed to love me.
