Would one solution, as far as AI weeding out GenX be to list experience without dates? i.e. Company - Position - Responsibilities. Normally we include Company - Position 20xx to 20xx - Responsibilities. (Then) Company - Position - 19xx to 20xx - Responsibilities.

As a Millennial, I spent almost two full years trying to get a job. In that time, I got 10 rejection emails, and 2 interviews. This was out of many thousands of applications. I finally got a job when I went into a temp agency. The job I have now is from that. I don’t get paid nearly enough right now, but it’s genuinely better than no income for two years.

For me it's been hundreds of instant rejections or no answer at all. Been that way for months. So I'm going back to school to forge another career pathway for myself again.

After almost 4 years and several thousand applications, I'm finally going back to full time work in a couple weeks. Only after going back to school for my first associates degree, getting hired as a student employee, and impressing the office boss with my work ethic did I get the offer...at 1/3ish my old salary. It's decent for the role, and I'm right in line with the others in the office, but it still galls a bit that having 20ish years of IT experience is pretty much worthless...

In my observations of healthcare organizations, the bottom line no longer cares about people skills or wisdom or even adequate clinical skills. It’s only about running as many patients through the door as possible and treatment be damned.

Some professionals have no choice but to reveal their age due to the requirement for graduation and certification dates. It becomes difficult to imagine where all of this goes.

I'm on disability and have not had a job in something like 10 years. I'm in my 50s and unemployable. Now, the repubs want to force me back into the workforce. Not to work, mind you, just to tamp down wages. What a great country, eh?
