The Outcome The flight ended in a fatal crash in a heavily wooded area of Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, near Micanopy and Gainesville, Florida. Adrien was flying a single-engine Piper PA-28-180 Cherokee (tail number N7806W) that he had recently purchased during the fatal accident.

This is horrible. The air traffic controller was amazing though. This breaks my heart. I have a 16 year old in flight school so it hits different. Ugh

I don’t like this. I lost my Husband over 2 years ago. He was spraying crops. Had been flying for 30 years… every aircraft imaginable he had flown… you never know when it’s your time. When it’s God’s time it is… he always said fly the plane until you can’t. Unfortunately, his situation didn’t allow for that. God rest this young man. My oldest Daughter was taking flying lessons at the time. She stopped . To this day I will never imagine myself flying in a small plane again nor ever being with a pilot ever again 💔

He was a low hour pilot (about 66 hours total including training) and was warned about the weather but decided to fly anyway. Just because you have a license doesn’t mean you are ready for any situation. Always check weather and if there is the slightest chance of a situation you are not trained for, don’t take the chance.

The Faa says an average of a student who does not have a IFR rating will last 10 minutes max before crashing from disorientation Adrian lasted 36 minutes. He could’ve gotten out of the clouds, but the disorientation got to and he had no clue what direction he was going because the human body naturally wants to listen to its instinct and not the instrument.
