This G-SHOCK has a BASKETBALL COURT hidden in its dial, and I’ve got to say, it’s one of the coolest details I’ve seen on a Casio watch! I spotted this incredible gold and black G-SHOCK at the Casio store in Dubai Mall, and naturally, I had to try it on! Meet the Casio G-SHOCK GBM-2100RH, a special collaboration with NBA basketball star Rui Hachimura. And just look at that dial! What initially looks like a gorgeous gold finish is actually a clever design inspired by the wooden floor of a basketball court, complete with markings representing the area beneath the basket! But the attention to detail doesn’t stop there. At the 8 o’clock position, you’ll find the Japanese character for eight, a reference to Hachimura’s name. His signature Black Samurai logo also appears on the strap keeper. And underneath that striking appearance, you’re getting some seriously impressive G-SHOCK technology. There’s Tough Solar charging, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, a stainless steel bezel, 200 metres of water resistance and Casio’s famously tough construction. Originally released in 2024, this is one of those collaborations that I think deserves far more attention. I’ve been collecting watches for over 30 years, and I still love discovering little design details like this. It’s what makes watch collecting so interesting!
