🚨Sergio Ramos on Cristiano Ronaldo winning the Ballon d’Or of all time: 🗣️Reporter: Sergio, Cristiano Ronaldo has won the Ballon d’Or of all time award, and many fans are celebrating it as proof that he is the greatest footballer ever. What is your reaction? 🎙️Sergio Ramos: Honestly, I think it’s a useless award. With all due respect, what does it even mean? Sometimes, I look at these awards and wonder whether football has become more about money and publicity than actual sporting achievements. 🗣️Reporter: But some fans argue that this award finally gives Cristiano the recognition he deserves. Don’t you think they have a point? 🎙️Sergio Ramos: Recognition for what, exactly? Cristiano has had an extraordinary career, and I will never disrespect what he has achieved. But what surprises me is seeing fans who spent years criticising France Football and questioning the credibility of its awards suddenly supporting them because the outcome now suits their favourite player. So France Football was unreliable yesterday, but today they are the ultimate authority on who the greatest is? That’s hypocrisy, if you ask me. 🗣️Reporter: Are you suggesting Lionel Messi should be considered ahead of Cristiano despite this award? 🎙️Sergio Ramos: Let’s not forget that we have a player who has won EIGHT Ballon d’Ors. Eight! I played alongside Cristiano at Real Madrid, and I’ve faced Messi numerous times. I’ve witnessed both players’ quality firsthand, so I know what I’m talking about. Cristiano is an incredible player, but I’ve seen what Messi can do to an entire team. I’ve seen the way he controls matches, creates chances out of nothing, and makes world-class defenders question everything they thought they knew about defending. 🗣️Reporter: So, in your opinion, does this new award change the GOAT debate? 🎙️Sergio Ramos: Not one bit. You don’t need to create another award to convince people who the greatest is. Football has already given us the evidence. Nowadays, everything seems to be about money, publicity, and headlines. People will criticise an organisation when it doesn’t favour their player, then celebrate that same organisation when it does. That tells you everything you need to know. Eight Ballon d’Ors. Let that sink in. You can create as many awards as you want, but you cannot rewrite football history. #boat - @lm10sinsoul
