It's so hard being in countries without the infrastructure to provide free public schooling. Coming home can be a culture shock. Let yourself feel it all, it can be overwhelming

Would definitely avoid giving money to children in the future! I was in Sapa and did a guided trek as well, and our guide was telling us not to give money to the children because it makes them less likely to receive an education. Their parents will keep them out of school if they earn money. It’s awful I know, but the best thing we can do for them is to say no. Completely understand wanting to give them everything though - so do I! ❤️

the children here earned money by selling local stuffs than their parent's farming, so a lots of them have to drop out of school for labour. thats why local authority warned tourist not buying or giving money.
