@the.living.room.pod: This one is for the parents. In this message, our host, Chris Wharton, speaks directly to the older adults whose children and grandchildren have been encouraging them to strength train, to become more mobile, and to live a more active life. To fight back against physical and cognitive decline. And the message is clear: this isn't about vanity or performance. It's about being there. As Chris explains, a gradual decline in function as we age is normal, but not inevitable. Certainly not the pace at which we decline. You may disagree with your kids, but this is not a debate. The science has never been more certain: strength, mobility, balance, power, endurance, heart and lung function, lean mass, body fat. We know how to protect - and even improve - ALL of them. At ANY age. This isn't a science problem. It's a habit and discipline problem. Your kids aren't pushing you toward this because they're worried about how you look. They're pushing you because they love you. They want more years, more memories, and more time with you in it. Honor them by listening. Then honor them by trying.
