Eastbourne College Skiing Holiday Attempted Rape Appeal The Offender Register is appealing for information about an attempted rape at Eastbourne College, Old Wish Road, on a skiing holiday to France organised for pupils between the ages of 13 and 15. Ed Giddins, of Magham Down, was formally interviewed under caution by Sussex Police in 2026, and, after a 6-month investigation, it was decided that, unfortunately, there was not enough evidence to submit to the thorough and strict court process outlined by the Crown Prosecution Service. Allegedly, Giddins attempted to rape a fellow pupil on a skiing holiday organised by Eastbourne College in 1985/86. This occurred on the day that Giddins was sent home for flooding the room that he and his fellow victim were sharing at the Ski Lodge Hotel, allegedly in an attempt to remove any physical evidence. The master in charge of the skiing holiday was told of the attempted rape but failed to notify Eastbourne College in England or the Police in France/England. Eastbourne College were approached by Sussex Police in 2026 but told them that ALL records had been destroyed. Although the case is registered as No Further Action (NFA), it remains

Sussex Police can be contacted on 101 (please quote CRN 47230037446), or you can make an anonymous report at https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously. N.B. Ed Giddins, the former England Cricket Player, was alleged to have exposed himself to girls whilst at the then Saint Bedes in Eastbourne (now Bedes), and we would encourage his previous alleged victims to come forward. This was prior to his joining Eastbourne College in 1984.
