I rewatched the remake,here are my takeaways. 1)Not enough practical effects 2. Jackie Earle Haley is intimidating and creepy with his interpretation, but the bar was very high. Sorry bud. lol 3. Freddy's makeup was lackluster 4) Biggest sin of all, Rooney Mara as Nancy. She is the one sleepwalking through this entire movie. Everyone else was acting circles around her. They should've switched her role with Katie Cassidy, because Katie was acting her ass off for her short amount of screentime. 5. Definitely didn't need the p3edophilia implication, hes already a bad guy who was unaliving kids and the parents got revenge. Thats motivation enough. The remake is definitely a product of its time. Early 2010s was the time period almost every 80s horror flick got a remake.
