I see a flower and the fact that it is likely there through a series of random occurrences makes it even more amazing. it wasn't intentional. it fought the odds and existed in a world full of dangers. that seems far more impactful than "God put it there"

Honestly “god did it” is far less beautiful an explanation to me of, for instance Lake Tahoe, than to know the millions of years of geological activity that produced it, and the billions of years of evolution that produced all of the beautiful trees and wildlife around it. Christian explanations are boring, not to mention entirely inaccurate.

Random chance and chaos made it all. That makes it all the more amazing and cool 🤷🏽 For me, a lot of my gratefulness comes from knowing that it’s all such a delicate thread of chance and probability. My great grandfather came to the U.S. on a boat from Poland when he was 1.5 years old. That baby, surviving that trip, is part of the story of why I’m here today. What were the odds of survival? I’m sure they weren’t 100%. Random events and probability have a beauty and wonder all their own.

The existence of the universe is much more incredible now that I no longer believe a god created it. A magical being snapping everything into existence isn't impressive.Of course that being can do anything it wants, it's all powerful. However, the process of every aspect of the universe coming together over billions of years so that we exist in this moment to observe it is AMAZING.

I actually feel the exact opposite. Space, nature, all of that is immensely more amazing, complex, and beautiful simply because it’s random. The fact that no one created it, that it’s just the result of billions of random events, that makes me appreciate it even more. How lucky we are that it all lead to us being here and able to appreciate it! It’s amazing and awe inspiring!

It’s even more beautiful knowing that random chaotic atoms danced together and sparked all of this! Here we are — all of us — awaiting nature’s immutable laws to return us back to the elements of the universe of which we were first composed. Nothing more beautiful than feeling a part of it all.

I find the mysteries of the universe far more exciting and stimulating than "Oh that was God". It feels so insubstantial and incurious to explain away things like dark matter and dark energy as the unknowable machinations of an absent deity.

why didnt this god tell us about the wonder and beauty of the universe? instead its 1998 im watching the opening sequence to Contact and see all the galaxies and instantly deconstruct, thinking... "if i was an all loving/knowing/present/powerful god, KNOWLEDGE of the universe would be what id give my people, not how to own slaves or the threats to little children about an eternal damnation of their soul. if there is a god of this universe, its not theirs. ❤️
