As a carpenter rapidly approaching four decades in the trade, I felt this. I've only started documenting my work in the last 10, or so, years. For most of my career the work just needed to get done. Now I look back and contemplate how many things I've built.

I think a lot of us get so focused on what needs to be done that we forget to acknowledge what got us to where we are. It makes me wonder how much of our need for validation comes from not taking the time to affirm ourselves and recognize our own wins.
