I truly believe that if people take the proper steps to come here legally and work toward citizenship, we can find more common ground. I personally know several people who have completed the paperwork or are currently going through the process to become citizens, and I respect them for making that effort. If you want to make the United States your home, I believe it’s important to embrace the process, learn about our culture, and make an effort to become part of the community. In other countries, people are often expected to learn the local language and adapt to the culture, and I know this from personal experience. This isn’t about judging anyone or treating anyone differently. It’s about understanding that living in a country comes with responsibilities, just as it comes with opportunities. I believe that when we make an effort to understand one another, respect each other’s cultures, and follow the proper processes, we can build stronger communities and develop greater respect for one another. At the end of the day, respect, understanding, and a willingness to integrate go a long way. #ice #daltonga
