Keep it touched up each tank of gas. Takes me about 4 min for my 16” husky t540xp, maybe 5 for my 20” 291 Stihl and maybe 10 tops for my 32” non skip ms660, I use good stihl chain and real good files. Well worth the touch up time and your chain will last you to cut way more than you would ever imagine if lightly touched vs aggressively sharpened

yup. my partner refuses to put licks on the chain. he tosses them and buys another. next spring I am going my own way. a man that doesnt respect his tools doesnt deserve them

3 strokes per tooth if it’s not that daw, just depends on how many strokes it takes to sharpen it and than you do it per tooth than switch sides do it to each tooth on each side and than you’ll have 3-4 saws sharp but not to sharp where you ruin your saws, company’s been doing it since 2004 and it’s worked every time! And doesn’t take more than 15 min a saw!

i just tune mine when it starts to make the slightest dust. never more than 4 strokes to get things out. sometimes i run 2 dif size files throughout. takes 10 min

recommend Simonton 451c grinder Husqvarna 564 almost a full pound lighter than 500i and you'll be able to pump out razor sharp chains like a damn Factory
