@cbsnews: Britain’s King Charles III continued his nine-day tour of the Caribbean Thursday under mounting pressure to issue a formal apology for the U.K. royal family's historic role in the transatlantic slave trade and to support calls for reparations. #royalfamily #king #uktiktok #britain
Why should the people who were never enslaved receive money from people who didn’t enslave or exploit them like King Charles has done nothing

Britain ended most of the slavery by hunting slave ships for years, the only ones doing it to this day are the people in the middle east

In British culture, an apology is huge. It matters. Conversely, it has to be meaningful. King Charles III cannot possibly apologise on behalf of the British Empire for 400 years of slavery. He can't apologise for the actions of the East India Company; for the opium wars in China, the Boer War, Britain's role at the Berlin Conference...
you can see where this is going.
He can only apologise for things that he himself did wrong as the King.
