@hannahroyfit: If you’re struggling with rest, toxic productivity, and stewardship, please listen to this video and read this caption🤍 The world always emphasizes doing more, being the best version of yourself, no rest, no days off. It’s something I struggle with falling into as an entrepreneur. But I often find myself burning out, and doing more in vain. I’m not doing more with the Lord in mind, but I’m doing more because I care what others think. The reality of it is, true rest if found in the Lord. God has called us to rest. God blessed our obedience. Anytime I have rested on a Sunday instead of working, I feel so much more purposeful and rested in my week! Rest isn’t found in scrolling on our phones, brain rotting, or laying on the couch watching a movie. There’s a time and place for that, and it can feel restful, but true rest is found in the Lord!! We all have responsibilities and things we have to do, things that the Lord has called us to steward. So we don’t want to neglect those things, but we also don’t want to stress about them and let them overwhelm us! On Sunday’s I aim to Sabbath and be with the Lord. I also meal prep and reset my house a bit on Sunday’s. But that’s actually something I have come to find joy and rest in. Because I use that time to be with the Lord. To worship Him, to talk with Him, and it’s a blessing restful time! Doing the mundane things of life can hold purpose and rest when they are for the Lord!
I encourage you to ask yourself and reflect, are you spending time resting in the Lord or are you always go go go? Do you look at your responsibilities as a burden or as a blessing from the Lord? When we take our eyes off of ourselves, and out them onto the Lord, keeping Him at the center of it all, that’s where we find true joy, rest, and peace, that the things and the people of this world will never be able to fill, but only Jesus! “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14 “For God alone my soul waits in silence, from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, myfortress; I shall not be greatly shaken” Psalm 62:1-2 #christianencouragement#sundayvlog#sundayreset#mealprepping#christian
