@leokatiecbt: Breaking the OCD cycle doesn't always mean making intrusive thoughts disappear. Sometimes, it means changing how you respond to them. OCD can create a powerful urge to check, seek reassurance, or perform rituals to reduce anxiety. But repeatedly responding to these urges can keep the cycle going. Learning to resist compulsions may involve allowing anxiety to rise without immediately trying to fix it, leaving intrusive thoughts unresolved, and resisting the need for certainty. These steps can feel incredibly uncomfortable at first, especially when your mind insists that something needs to be done. Over time, practicing different responses can help weaken obsessive-compulsive patterns. Recovery isn't about controlling every thought. It's about learning that you don't have to respond to every one. #ocd #ocdrecovery #ocdcompulsions #intrusivethoughts #ocdawareness
