@metrolosangeles: The G Line turns 21 today! 🍊🎉 Originally called the Orange Line, named after San Fernando Valley's once abundant citrus groves, the 14-mile busway between North Hollywood and Warner Center opened to huge crowds on October 29, 2005, with roughly 30K boardings. Built partially on the old Southern Pacific Railroad’s Burbank Branch Line, the G Line was a hit and later extended to Chatsworth in 2011 and became our first fully electric line in 2021 ⚡️ And we're not done! We’re adding grade-separated bridges to the G Line at Van Nuys, Bl, Vesper Av and Sepulveda Bl, with railroad-style gates, improved signal priority technology and bike path improvements. What does all this mean? Bus travel time savings of 12 minutes Five-minute bus headways Capacity increase of 10,000 additional riders Safer conditions for buses, cars, pedestrians
