@thetimes: Why is The Traitors Britain’s most popular TV show? More than 15 million people tuned in to this year’s opening episode, with over 50% of Friday night viewers hooked on The Celebrity Traitors. But the series is far more than camp, reality TV fun — critics and audiences are viewing it through the lens of a prestige drama like The Sopranos or Succession. Set against castle crypts and midnight murders, the hit BBC show channels classic Shakespearean tragedy and golden-age detective whodunnits. From Maya Jama playing a ruthless Lady Macbeth opposite James Acaster’s guilt-ridden schemer, to Miranda Hart channelling her inner Miss Marple as the underestimated faithful, the battle for survival in the Scottish castle delivers a masterclass in psychological drama. 🔗 Tap the link to read the full story by Susie Goldsbrough #traitors #thetraitors #celebritytraitors #tv #shakespeare
