Mine are teenagers (16 and 13) and we do 54321. On their Christmas lists I ask that they write things THEY HOPE they get. 5- stocking stuffers ( mascara, lip gloss, figet etc). 4- Practical things they need (new phone case, etc. ) 3- Things they can DO (books, music, season passes etc). 2- Things to wear (Nike socks, a name brsnd outfit). And 1 big gift.

I didn’t get my baby anything for Christmas last year lol like she was literally 6 weeks old??? What do they possibly want then?? Literally everyone got us diapers as gifts and it was AMAZING!

My hot parenting take: it’s good for kids to not get every single thing they want every time they want something because as they grow up, they’ll learn they don’t need to buy everything they want. My kids needs are provided for, they get plenty of presents at Christmas and birthday… but the rest of the year we are taking pictures of things they might want in the future and saving it for those occasions.

My daughter was 6 weeks last Christmas. I reuse Christmas bags. I went into her draws filled it up with clothes, toys etc & my sons opened it.
