My dad had to learn both English and Spanish as an indigenous Mixteco man. Only went to school to the 8th grade. None of this ever stopped him ❤️

I immigrated from Mexico at 9 yrs old, went to college, business school and law school all on full academic scholarships. My son graduated from #3 university in the US and speaks English, Spanish, German, French and conversational Portuguese. He is now in Law school. My daughter attended the #7 STEM program in the US, received a research grant as a sophomore and published her research as a senior and received highest honors as an undergrad. She is now getting her masters at the university where Prince William and Catherine studied! Not bad for a Mexican immigrant!!

As an immigrant myself now recently naturalized: THANK YOU! I moved here on my own 8 years ago, not knowing anyone and with just 2 suitcases and a 2 weeks sublease in Brooklyn! English was rocky at first but I now work in tech and make over six figures! 💪

Came here as nanny and was for 8 years, got the opportunity to restock snacks and maintain a startup. 5 years later I oversee 8 US offices and all the people that report to me are born Americans! I didn’t steal a job I earned it!
