Also, I swear this happens every single time he has a conflict with Octavia. He chooses blitz over Octavia she gets upset she calls him out. He gets sad. She called him out. He apologizes and promises to get better. She forgives him immediately. Rinse and repeat. Literally. every. single. Octavia center episode.

Stolas lives for the fantasy of different lives and ppl; it wasn’t good enough with blitz and then he became poor so now he’s daydreaming abt vassago, the “knight in shining armor” who will save him from the shackles of poverty. And while he’s at it he imagines having Octavia there with him, so now he wants to put effort into being a good dad—until he inevitably gets bored, finds another fantasy, or starts wondering if the grass is greener on the other side. I don’t think Stolas is necessarily a BAD person, he just struggles to stick to his decisions-like he doesn’t want to be a bad person, but if personal pleasure outweighs morality, take a wild guess at which he’ll choose
