If you are on a bus with a total of 10 people. You are going to vote on if that bus is going to drive over a cliff. 5 people don’t vote because it doesn’t matter. 2 people vote not to go off the cliff. And the remaining 3 people vote to take the bus over the cliff. Now that bus is plowing 90mph over the edge and everybody dies including the non voters. It’s really that simple and simple math and yes your vote matters especially in smaller local elections. So you think about that! You are gunna let others drive the bus for you?

If 30% don't vote, the party that gets more voter turnout is more likely to win, but that doesn't mean the country as a whole agrees with them. Midterms is all based on popular vote so majority wins, so higher turnout means the results are more representative of the electorate as a whole
