@buslim_maine: #greenscreen NEW YORK CITY, BRONX, NEW YORK LISTEN UP A teenager was fatally shot while walking to school Thursday morning in the Bronx, prompting a search for three suspects. Police said the victim, a 15-year-old boy, was shot near East 171st Street and Crotona Place in the Claremont section, one block west of Crotona Park. The teen was struck in the stomach and rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital in a police cruiser. He later died at the hospital from his injuries. Two schools, Bronx Prep High School and Mott Hall Bronx High School, are located just steps from where the shooting happened. Neighbors said they were shaken by the violence. Carla Benjamin, who has lived in the area for decades, said her son told her about the shooting after he arrived home safely. "My son came in and told me that someone was shot, and I was happy it wasn't him first and foremost, but I came outside because I've been in this area so long I wanted to make sure it wasn't one of the young boys that I've babysat in this area," Benjamin said. Benjamin said she was heartbroken to learn that a teenager had been shot. "It just hurt me so much. So much has happened in this block where it wasn't meant for that person," she said. Benjamin said neither she nor her son knows the teen who was shot. AND YOU ALREADY KNOW THE SLOGAN THEY GOTTA GO. THEY GOTTA GET UP OUT OF HERE.
