@joseph.2016: Four Sierra Leonean women who were stranded in Iraq after being lured there by agents promising $500/month domestic jobs, each paying over $2,000 upfront, they have returned home safely to Freetown on 23 October 2026. Instead of the promised conditions, they faced passport confiscation, maltreatment, harsh working conditions, and unpaid or underpaid wages for three to four years, and a later attempt to reach Turkey through another agent ($1,300) also fell through. Iranian authorities referred them to the Sierra Leone Embassy in Tehran, which worked with the IOM to arrange documentation and travel for their repatriation. Ambassador Salamu Koroma urged them to rebuild their lives, and the case underscores the protective role of Sierra Leone's diplomatic missions and partnerships with organizations like IOM in helping vulnerable migrants abroad #fyp #sierraleonetiktok🇸🇱
