@saleslionglass: Half term means arguments over iPads, fights over the PlayStation and whole series binge-watched by kids who should be outside playing. 2 hours a day of screens is 730 hours a year. That's 30 full days of childhood. Listen to this and tell me it isn't by design. #screentime #halfterm #parenting #childhood #ukparents
The creative aspect of an iPad and the amazing digital art 🖼️my daughter creates will never make me regret giving my daughter an iPad.

I work in retail and everyday you see kids in prams holding a phone, kids walking round the shop with their head in a Ipad. It's sad to see. When my lads were baby's in their prams they both done that "Hiya" to everyone you passed 🤣🤣🤣 I don't see that now and if you dare to smile at a kid and say Hiya they look at you and scowl. I've now stopped trying to interact with kids when their at the till, getting a dirty look off a 4yr old isn't worth it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a sad reflection on the next generation growing up when they don't even know how to communicate with a simple "Hiya"

I sold my 2, 55' tellys a few months ago , I only have my phone now , which I use for work coz I've no choice, feel so much better for not having them, but I grew up without technology and was always out of the house, totally agree with you about the kids and t.v, I always turned the t.v off when we would eat, use to get the kids out of the house walking all the time. can't be dealing with some of the stuff that gos on these days, sometimes there is no common sense♥️

Look at any statistics for children who require additional support it’s 95% communication and interaction children do not learn how to communicate and interact through a screen

have been teaching for 20 years and I can tell you, the BEST thing you can do for your child is to not give them an ipad
These things are literally rotting the brains of children, I have witnessed this and it is heartbreaking

Exactly this! I have worked in education 30+ years. I see little kids now scream and throw tantrums at the gate, not because Mum is leaving because the iPad/phone is taken off them. We have kids who have no attention skills, no social skills, cant read social ques, can’t wait, take turns, no understanding of emotions theirs or others, can’t show empathy, have very little life skills is sad, scary and depressing. We notice right away the kids who have parents with boundaries and limit tech, and those without. The OVERUSE of technology and using it as a baby sitter is literally rotting our children’s brains. It’s heartbreaking x

I got my daughter a tablet when she was 3. Instant regret! I took it off her after 6 months, banned YouTube and any access to the internet! I regret it everyday because I feel it has damaged her brian in crucial stage of development.
She is 5yo now and is doing better but many of her peers in school are very heavy on the online world.
She has even has 6yo kids telling her that certain roblox/youtube horror characters are going to k*ll her baby cousin and c*t his head off.
It's absolutely disgusting.
People might call me over protective but the amount of children and young people with mental health struggles have been on the rise since phones and tablets became and thing. ESPECIALLY in young teens! I am 100% FOR the social media and phone bans!
So many teens hiding in their rooms on their phones or games not going out in the world and getting more and more anxious and isolated.
Not for my daughter..... no thankyou.
She will be out there. She already had a naturally anxious personality because she is neudivergent but I dont allow it to consume her. I teach and encourage her. I expose her to different experiences with balance.
Just yesterday, we went to a disco. At first she was a bit shy but in the end she LOVED it and was dancing up front 🥰
