The passive, nonchalant responses to devastating losses aren’t a display of stoic professionalism; they are the transparent reflections of a leader who is financially comfortable and competitively checked out. The alarming truth is that the uninspired, repetitive rhetoric he feeds the media is the exact same energy he is bringing into the locker room, signaling to the players that the high-stakes standard of Michigan football no longer applies. A premier blue-blood brand like Michigan deserves a coach whose belly still burns for championships, not one who treats one of the biggest stages in sports like a lucrative retirement home. It is painfully obvious that this stage is too big for his current level of motivation, and he is operating entirely in over his head.
