This happened to me in the dorms! Try switching to a fluoride free toothpaste (I use the hello brand) and apparently diaper rash cream works. You can also get prescribed metronidazole 1% topical gel by your dermatologist!!

i work in a dermatology office and metronidazole cream is a must. i tried every over the counter cream and hack but metronidazole is the only that that worked

mine looked exactly like yours does , it wouldn’t go away i had it for probably 7 months straight even went to derm got prescribed a cream that didn’t work so i tried ppls recs on tiktok and this was the only thing that helped!!! it went away completely in 3 days and its not been back!! sending u positive vibes bc i know how annoying it is!!!!

whatever you do don’t let them put you on steroids to treat it, mine got really bad and they put me on doxycycline and it was really the only thing that helped

swear by thayers sulfur cream. I got this really bad freshman year of college and got this sulfur cream from walgreens. After two uses it was gone.

I had perioral dermatitis in college as well. Your best bet is to contact a dermatologist I had to go on antibiotics because my dermatologist said most creams don’t make it go away for good!

wait i had this exactly when i moved into dorms too! i switched to la roche posay hydrating gentle cleanser, toothpaste with no fluoride and my derm prescribed pimecrolimus cream and azelic acid. that healed it so quick!!

AZELAIC ACID and wash your face after you brush your teeth fluoride can make it flare up this was the only thing that worked for me after trying meds and everything!
