the trend isn't literally saying that people arent people until theyre attractive, its more so detailing how people felt they weren't treated as human until they were attractive. so its not a general statement that people are saying to be true and right, but rather an expression of how they felt under a looks oriented society as an unattractive or unconventional person. kinda the opposite of dehumanizing, theyre bringing awareness to ppls unfair treatment under unrealistic and discriminatory beauty standards.
