Last night I updated that it was believed the suspect was transported due to an EMS use of a sedative on scene. Since then the family has stated the suspect is still hospitalized due to head injuries sustained during the altercations. The body cam appears to fall off at some point, but doesn’t turn off, and is recovered capturing the rest of the incident. According to Auburn Police- UPDATE: October 28 Officer-Involved Incident on Auburn Way North   We understand the concern surrounding the October 28 incident. The officer involved in the October 28 incident on Auburn Way North and 37th ST NE was placed on administrative leave yesterday pending a full investigation.   The Auburn Police Department takes all officer involved incidents seriously and treats these investigations with the utmost urgency. We are committed to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation, maintaining transparency throughout the process, and ensuring fair treatment for everyone involved.   In an effort to be as transparent as possible, we have released the available officer body-worn camera, dash camera, and traffic camera footage related to this incident below.   The investigation remains ongoing, and we will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available and appropriate to release.   Statement on the PAC:   The Police Advisory Committee was established in 2020 to bring community perspectives to the work of improving the Auburn Police Department. Following the departure of several members, the committee went on hiatus, which was communicated on December 11, 2025.   During the hiatus, Commander Cristian Adams has been reviewing the committee’s guiding principles and operating guidelines. We will share an update on the committee’s status and opportunities soon. Our goal is a committee that provides meaningful community input and supports ongoing improvements in how the department serves Auburn.
