Make an artifact that can bring then back, but make it incredibly hard to obtain or not real at all, sending the adventurer on a quest of grief for an artifact that may not even exist to bring back the one they love.

yes. but make it so you can revive them with necromancer. YET slowly make it so the longer they are revied. the more they act deranged. like living after death is slowly causeing more and more harm to them.
