There was once I got into a cab , greeted the driver , but he ignored me because the fare was low . However as my house was only a short distance away and was only $10. He refused to drop me at my blk which I keyed in and later when I check out his name , he was previous criminal who appeared on the news . Not only this time ,when the gps stop at the high way , the driver gave attitude and wanted to drop me off along the highway as he say his map stop there. Until I say u are supposed to drop at the destination I keyed in not according to ur gps map .

CONTEXT CONTEXT CONTEXT... In the night, due to the NSC constructions the roads leading to Yishun from ALL directions can be confusing for someone not familiar or even for someone familiar with Yishun can get disorientating.. so for a 75yo who may be driving less and/or only occasionally could be daunting.. just saying. so don't be quick to judge.

Lentor yishun midnight road closure quite a big hassle. If the 75yr old uncle don't use GPS for update and rely on his memory, be bound to get stuck. Experienced last week trying to fetch people from the heli rock cafe sembawang Rd. Old uncle didn't keep his cool la.. Can be quite frustrating.

Yes indeed Yishun and lentor road close at night but grad still pay driver that measly fare base on that closed road, any detour will cost extra time and 10 km above for driver that’s unfamiliar with that area.

Before alighting , should hv contacted the police but don't alight till they arrive . His action of dropping you off at a deserted place is very inhuman - you're exposed to danger !

driving at night to provide transport service to public at 75 is something agencies need to look as road is a shared responsibility and safety is important and with today tech and sg premium city this should be better regulated and more tech used to provide safety

Avoid Yishun all PHV drivers out there. The road closures really no joke. Even getting out of there is a chore.

The road closure is a nightmare to some drivers as Grab GPS don’t show the closure. Lentor exit closed and sometimes if u exit Thomson along Sembawang road they block and only can u-turn again before the junction u can turn right to Yishun Ave 8. From Thomson exit only way is turn into Transit road then to Mandai road then u can go into Yishun Ave 8. But many drivers dunno this route if u r not familiar there.
