I don’t think what she’s doing is fair, although I think it’s important to understand that she may have her own feelings and insecurities behind her actions. However, you can’t expect someone to be with you simply because another person has feelings for them. Love should be based on genuine feelings and mutual choice, not pressure or emotional manipulation. If she’s relying on his people-pleasing nature or using his past experiences to influence his decisions, then that’s unhealthy and unfair to him. It also risks getting in the way of two people who may genuinely have feelings for each other. Ultimately, she needs to understand that she can’t force an emotional connection or make someone love her by trying to influence their choices. Whatever she has been through in the past may explain some of her behaviour, but it doesn’t justify controlling someone else’s feelings. I believe that, sooner or later, she’ll realise that a genuine relationship cannot be built through pressure or guilt. Someone should choose to be with you because they genuinely want to, not because they feel obligated to.
