@nourishingapothecary: Your embryo transfer didn’t work. Does that mean you have an implantation problem? Not automatically. One unsuccessful transfer can be devastating. After everything you’ve invested emotionally, physically and financially, it’s understandable to want an explanation. But the outcome alone doesn’t tell us why it happened. Implantation involves the embryo’s developmental potential, the uterine environment, the transfer process and probability. Even an embryo reported as euploid after chromosome testing cannot guarantee implantation or a live birth. That’s why I don’t jump from one unsuccessful transfer to assuming your immune system attacked the embryo, your lining is unreceptive or your body is rejecting pregnancy. Recurrent implantation failure needs to be considered in the context of your individual history, including your age, the embryos transferred and the outcomes expected in your circumstances. Were there concerns about the uterine cavity or lining? Does your history suggest something that warrants further investigation? Those answers help guide the next conversation and whether additional testing has a clear purpose. You deserve support after an unsuccessful transfer.
