as an elder gen-z (born in 02) the only thing my mom bought at spirit for my marceline (adventure time) costume was an itchy ass wig and some face paint and a little blow up guitar. everything else was stuff found in my closet and my older sister’s closet😂 and i BEGGED my sister to do my makeup (this was 2013 btw)

My mom never ever let me shop at spirit. I had a part time job for a summer and Little does she know I bought a corset from Fredrick’s of Hollywood clearance sale and used the CRAP out of it. Costume party? Covered ✅ clubbing? Covered ✅ fancy dinner party? Covered with a sweater too lol. I had to throw the corset away when it started falling apart cause i wore it too much lol
