@jennifer_filibus: I moved on fast, not because it didn’t hurt, but because I knew I couldn’t afford to let the pain consume me forever. The longer I stayed depressed, the longer I allowed grief to keep me down, the more I risked letting my story determine my future. Losing my parents was never something I could easily get over. But I had two choices: allow my circumstances to define the rest of my life or find the strength to keep going, even when I had every reason to give up. I chose to keep going. Not because I was okay, but because I knew I still had a life to live and a future to build. I couldn’t change what happened to me, but I could choose what I did with the life I still had. And honestly, if I had allowed my pain to become my permanent home, I might not be where I am today. I didn’t move on because it stopped hurting. I moved forward because I refused to let my pain write the rest of my story. #orphan
