They should be banned from Europe for longer than five years. The ownership should be forced to sell. And every title won during the period under investigation should be stripped. Anything less is an insult to every club that has been competing against an unfair advantage. “I have said for years that financial rules only matter if they are enforced properly. If the evidence is as serious as these reports suggest, then one hundred points is the minimum, not the maximum. The damage they have caused to the competition is bigger than any single punishment that has been discussed. The league needs to show it is willing to protect itself.
