🚨 PENNSYLVANIA SCHOOL BOARD VOTES 7–1 ON A CONTROVERSIAL GIRLS’ SPORTS POLICY — AND THE DEBATE IS FAR FROM OVER. 🇺🇸 A school board vote in Pennsylvania is reigniting one of America's most heated debates: Who should be eligible to compete in girls' school sports? On October 19, 2026, the Conestoga Valley School District board approved a policy in a 7–1 vote that bases student eligibility for school athletic teams on sex assigned at birth rather than gender identity. A separate Pennsylvania district, Eastern Lancaster County (Elanco), also approved a similar policy. Supporters argue that separating sports by sex is necessary to protect fairness, competitive opportunities, and the integrity of girls' athletics. Opponents argue that policies excluding transgender students can be discriminatory, harm vulnerable young people, and create difficult questions about how schools should determine eligibility. And there are still unanswered questions. How will these rules be enforced? Which students will be affected? And how can schools balance competitive fairness, equal opportunities, and the dignity of every student? This debate goes far beyond one school district. Across the United States, communities are wrestling with questions about sports, civil rights, and the future of school athletics. The decisions being made today could have lasting consequences for students and families. 💬 WHAT'S YOUR TAKE?
