باله الحداء تُعدّ من الموروثات الشعبية التي ترتبط بقبائل الحداء في محافظة ذمار باليمن، حيث يمتزج الشعر بالحماسة والفخر والاعتزاز بالقبيلة والأرض. تتميّز الباله في تراث الحداء بإلقاء الشعر في المجالس والمناسبات القبلية، وتبادل الأبيات بين الشعراء، وقد تحمل معاني الشجاعة والكرم والوفاء، وتوثّق مواقف الرجال والأحداث التي مرّت بها القبيلة. وللشعر في الحداء مكانة اجتماعية بارزة؛ إذ يُستخدم للتعبير عن المواقف، وإظهار الفصاحة وقوة المعنى، وحفظ أخبار القبائل ومآثرها. كما أن القصائد التي تتناول المواقف القبلية قد تنتقل من جيل إلى آخر، فتظل حاضرة في الذاكرة الشعبية. وتتميّز الباله القبلية عن القصيدة التي تُلقى منفردة بارتباطها بأجواء جماعية في بعض المناسبات، وبما قد يصاحبها من تفاعل بين الحاضرين، وفقًا للعُرف المحلي وطريقة أدائها. ومن المهم التمييز بين الباله بوصفها لونًا من الأداء الشعبي، وبين الألوان الشعرية الأخرى المعروفة في الحداء؛ فلكل لون خصائصه وطريقته في الإلقاء.
