I've done that before welding booms/arms and buckets to AG machines and got the greatest welds and then put a piece on the wrong side and afterwards spent hours with the grinder with a cut off wheel cutting amazing welds out that also would not come apart easily when trying to disassemble the parts because the welds were so good. learned a lot about a grinder that day.
