@fox2detroitwjbk: Dylan Larkin has been suspended from the Detroit Red Wings amid a standoff with the team over his wish to be trade. Earlier in the day, his agent said the former captain "had enough" playing for the Red Wings and will no longer be playing in hockey games in Detroit. #news #redwings #dylanlarkin #detroitredwings #sports

Blackwolf8890 :

If you demand a trade your no trade cause list is removed an open to all teams to acquire

. :

they shouldn't accept any offers so they hold him for 4 years unpaid lol

TunaTim :

His contract ends after 2030- keep him suspended without pay for the remainder of his contract. It’s just one roster spot, and not paying a dime!!!

kellybetz18 :

If you don't have to pay him then don't trade and make him sit for the next 4 years. We didn't win anything with him. Great attitude champ.

Senator6927 :

Breach of contract. Make him repay his last few years salary

Schu1974 :

No trade clause asking to be traded 😏

zootedcanadian :

No trade clauses should be nullified if the player requests a trade

Spacegoblin22 :

Larkin is a good player but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that since he became captain they have a marginal to bad franchise. Chris Illich is also a terrible owner almost as bad as William Clay Ford was.

Rich Deck :

What a garbage situation.

user4830078897368 :

Why does he want out?

Theo :

since he is now in violation of the contract they shout right just fire him and cut their losses.

TJM-MLP :

Maybe he should just retire. It’s only money

user9651997090003 :

The spin that he has not be traded as not many teams actually want him is interesting. He was so fortunate to be on the LGRW when they were brutal. He would not have made the fourth line on those Cup teams. He will never see TP=> 50 for the rest of his career… Denial ain’t just a river in Africa….🤷🏼‍♀️✌️👍

Paula Christian Hard :

No tickie no washie.... Don't play. Don't get paid.

definitelynotsarcastic :

Watch Larkin become the next Federov. Federov requested to be traded, it fell through, then when he became a free agent later (even though the Wings offered him another 4yr contract), he decided to sign with the Ducks. His popularity and career tanked after that.

Whoever takes him on, part of the deal will demand he be reimbursed for these no-pay days. Better to have this instead of him going out there half-effort and then he gets injured because he's careless. Then we're stuck with an injured asset who were forced to pay to be lazy.
