So I read his “on writing” book, and it talks about how he asked his wife on the menstrual cycle so he could write That scene. Very weird how he wrote it… but at least he asked a woman? (Still very weird)

I’ve read so many Stephen King books, the two that always stand out to me in my memory are Fairy Tale and Doctor Sleep. Personally I would recommend The Shining solely to get some “background” for recurring themes in his other books or as a prequel to Doctor Sleep, if you plan on reading that. The Shining def still suffers from being a piece of its time, though…
