Just wanted to clarify a few things! When I said God forgets our sins, I didn’t mean He literally forgets, because He is all-knowing. Scripture says He remembers our sins no more (Hebrews 8:12), meaning He no longer holds our forgiven sins against us. Forgiveness also doesn’t mean abandoning discernment, removing boundaries, or allowing someone access to your life again. The heart behind this video is that just as God doesn’t hold our forgiven sins over our heads, we shouldn’t continually hold others’ wrongs over theirs. Forgiving and “forgetting” doesn’t mean erasing the past, but choosing not to use it against someone. We are called to extend the same grace and mercy we’ve received through Christ (Ephesians 4:32).

When God says He’s going to forget, He means He isn’t going to hold it against you. He is saying that He remembers where we fell short, but chooses not to hold it against us. That’s where Grace comes into play, He forgives us because of His character not from our ability to deserve it.
