My husband found a Taco Bell receipt from 2011. He spend $8 on 2 beefy 5 layer burritos, fiesta potatoes, and nachos. Today? It was $27!!

Yup. I just spent $287 on Halloween candy from Costco to be able to give out 2 little pieces per trick or treater. Halloween is on a Saturday this year so I’m worried we will have even more trick or treaters and I will run out! 😯😯😯

For quick reference, with healthy inflation, these prices should be about 26% more than the 2014 prices and a lot of these are over 4-5x that.

That’s almost a 120% increase. They say our inflation rate has increased by 42%. Where is the remaining 78% going if it’s not going to consumers, workers’ wages, or operations—especially now that AI is being used so heavily? Oh, I know! Back into billionaires’ pockets.
