@two.rabbit.rescue: Banshee, originally Tuxedo (A2296351) from East Valley Animal Shelter, was orange listed and scheduled for euthanasia on September 27 after being surrendered by his owner. While at the shelter, he had one “possible seizure” with medical records that made it unclear what the actual seizure symptoms were. He arrived nonstop yelling and highly distressed - the only time he would calm down or be happy is when he was closely held, at which time he would purr loudly and knead in the air nonstop. We felt like he was looking for a sibling and learned at that time of the two siblings he had been surrendered with. Both had been adopted together but one - Nugget (A2296353) - was returned for being “too hissy”. So he was tagged and brought to live with his brother. His name is now Siren and while he started as a hissy butt he is now the sweetest little baby who just wants to give you hugs and snuggle his brother Banshee all the time. And after they were reunited, Banshee’s distress stopped and he became fully just a happy boy - with one major problem. His seizures have been growing worse and worse. He has had full diagnostic testing and every possible cause for the seizures besides neurological causes have been ruled out. He was placed on gabapetin and then phenobarbital which should have reduced the frequency but they have not slowed. And with his recent hospitalization, he was supposed to have adjusted phenobarbital levels and supposedly also received Keppra to help control them - but unfortunately the visit at that ER was decidedly a mistake and the hospital charged us $3,000 we really couldn’t afford and did absolutely nothing for him. While more information is coming about that, in the meantime, we are desperate for answers for Banshee. This sweet, social boy who loves affection and loves his brother is becoming more disoriented in between seizures and the frequency is now up to 2 times a day (sometimes more) of 1-2 minute seizures. They do not appear to be triggered by lights or sounds. Tremors often happen 1-2 hours before, with circling immediately before and head pressing or climbing the bars afterwards. They are full body seizures that make it hard for him to breathe. We have to get him to a neurologist. Please, reach out if you have recommendations of who to try anywhere in CA, AZ, NV or even Mexico where the cost isn’t incredibly high and the doctors can be trusted. If you don’t have any leads, PLEASE SHARE AND ENGAGE - we NEED community help to support this boy. Every last cent we had went to the ER visit trusting that it was the best move to help him and we have nothing left (though we are not done trying to get that amount spent back). He needs help NOW. Donations desperately needed to support his care and vet care for others in our rescue. While we are 501c3 status pending, we do partner with a 501c3 that will collect donations on our behalf - please contact for info. Else, donations can go directly to us using any of the links on our Linktree (in our bio, or go directly to https://linktr.ee/2rabbitrescue) or by donating directly to the vet (again, please DM for details). GoFundMe going live soon with more medical details as updates, including bills and medical notes so far. #seizures #seizureawareness #catseizure #veterinarymedicine #veterinarycare @Bunniesofeastvalley @LorraineLopezLoves
