I work maintenance in a FDA plant and the other day we had and accident and the on shift supervisor was doing w.e. I took the lead got a involved and my partner took over fixing the mistake the supervisor said he saw what happened and vy his account saw the whole thing and was Mia for 10min and in that time all he did was chase odd the qa person who needs to account what we did to fix it. oh and the next day he asked when the last time I did anything on my own... fucking joke wonder why im leaving

As a foreman it's more important to be a strong leader / manager and have excellent organizational, technical and problem solving skills than to know how to be a pipe fitter, carpenter, plumber etc. We need a solid working knowledge of the tasks our crews do but at the end of the day someone has to manage the crew, the engineers, the customer, higher management, EH&S, the budget, the permits, the schedule etc.
